3D Computer Aided Design: Part design, drawing, assembly, and simulation

North Shore CAD has extensive experience using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks for 3D computer aided design including modeling and finite element simulation. At North Shore CAD we typically use Autodesk Inventor for modeling and design, but are open to other programs if preferred. We can design your part, produce detailed dimensioned part drawings, and build and analyze your assembly while managing revision control and the bill of materials for all components.

Product design often involves many iterations and changes to components. Documenting these revisions is imperative to project organization. Many different parts, items, assemblies, subassemblies, documents, drawings, and other materials can go into your final design. This requires management of a comprehensive list known as a bill of materials (BOM). North Shore CAD provides BOM management detailing all aspects of your project in addition to methodical revision documentation and control.

3D Printing: Rapid, custom, and inexpensive prototyping

North Shore CAD frequently uses fused deposition modeling (FDM) polymer extrusion 3D printers for design prototyping. This allows for low cost custom prototyping solutions in a range of polymer materials from the common PLA, ABS, PET, PETG, and Nylon, to more exotic polymer composites and other materials.

3D Scanning: Accurate and precise reverse engineering, reconstruction, and visualization

North Shore CAD utilizes hand held 3D scanning equipment to accurately reproduce high resolution models of existing shapes, structures, parts, or components with features ranging from millimeters to meters in size.
